With a global shutdown and a baby on the way, I became very self aware that there was limited professional growth within the career I had. With some down time and online self study, I reconnected with a love for code and the adrenaline rush of a working site - sparking me to enroll in NSS. I am excited to now have the freedom to be creative while still in a functional and practical trade. I've been surprised, yet relieved, to find that my background in service provided me valuable skills that translated well into software development. Management skills, focus on the betterment of a team, communication, and perseverance under pressure were crucial in being able to align myself to serve my group in NSS projects. The idea that you can manipulate code to enrich peoples’ lives and better your environment, all while making information accessible to people motivates me on this new journey.

NSS FRONT END CAPSTONE - "VINNY VAN GO" (JS|REACT)

"With the introduction of Instacart, DoorDash, and Amazon Prime, letting consumers stay at home with a service coming to them has become the new norm. This application lets customers book time slots for Vinny Van-Go to arrive at their home with stocked shelves of products for in person shopping - cutting the expensive cost of ordering the wrong materials online." *click image for code*

NSS BACK END CAPSTONE - "SHOTGUN!" (REACT | DJANGO)

Inspired by a box of my great grandmother's road trip photos, “Shotgun!” enables users in the passenger seat to stay productive by documenting their state by state journeys. Users can then use these constructed “scrapbooks” to share with friends and family, or even other users, without assistance from popular social media sites. This application is also a great resource for fellow travelers to gain ideas on their next stops! *click image for code*
